New Opportunity
At the beginning of the semester Kyle was able to get an internship with Big-D. We were so excited about this opportunity because they are a great company to work for and we thought that this would be a great experience for Kyle. After about a week it didn't turn out the way we thought. Instead of doing real intern responsibilities, they actually had Kyle working out in the field doing grunt work. We later found out that this is actually how Big-D starts their interns. They like to see how they work in the field, and eventually you work your way up. Well in this economy we felt that we really needed some experience right away that will help Kyle find a job in December when he is officially done with school. A couple of weeks ago BYU had a career fair and Kyle had the chance to interview with several different companies. About a week later we found out that Kyle got another offer for an internship with Herzog. They are a rail construction company. They do work throughout the U.S. They are currently working right now on the Front Runner in Salt Lake. So thankfully Kyle is now interning and doing what a regular CM intern does. The best part is...he really likes it! We are hopeful that this will definitely open more doors for the future.
